Online Yoga with Louise Pitman
In these challenging times looking after our mental health is extremely important. Since the government announced social distancing measures the WHO reports there has been an increase in depression, fear, anxiety, stress and loneliness.
As well as its physical benefits such as improved flexibility, yoga is a great activity for mental health and wellbeing, with the American Psychological Association reporting it is a significant practice tool of psychotherapy due to its positive mental health benefits. Yoga acts as a natural anxiety relief, calming the central nervous system, reducing stress and muscle tension, and even providing a similar response as other self-soothing techniques such as socialising with friends. At a time when this is not possible face to face, yoga is a great way to stay positive and build resilience during the weeks ahead.
Louise Pitman, a yoga instructor from Salisbury, is offering the opportunity for you to access the benefits of yoga from the comfort of your own home. Starting on the 30th of March, Louise Pitman will be taking her classes to the web, offering 50 spaces for a range of 60 minute yoga classes on the virtual meeting platform zoom. Zoom is easy to use and you don’t even have to have an account to access a class.
