Beginning Running 2109Wiltshire has a thriving running community, there are numerous groups across the county which are organised by trained leaders. These groups are very welcoming and offer a great social environment in which people of any fitness level can participate in running.

Running Groups:

The groups range from complete beginners to advanced levels. Below are some of the groups listed with leaders contact details.

School Gate Runs:

Swindon Shin Splints:

Swindon Shin Splints is a FREE and friendly running group open to all standards of runner.  Suitable whether you want a gentle introduction to running or you are an experienced runner who wants to join a friendly group of like-minded enthusiasts.  Meet at the Sun Inn at Coate Water, Swindon, where you will also have the opportunity to socialise and make new friends over a cup of tea - or something stronger! - after the run.

Couch to 5K App:

'The One You' Couch to 5K app has been designed to get you off the couch and running in just 9 weeks. There is now a choice of 5 trainers to support and motivate you every step of the way, telling you when to walk and when to run.

The app can be downloaded by searching for ‘One You Couch to 5K’ in the Apple or Google Play stores.

JB Running:

Another super-friendly running club for women in Swindon, Run JB is JB Personal Training's official Run England women's running group, based in West Swindon. Founded by Personal Trainer, Ironwoman and ex-international athlete Shona Watt, Run JB specialises in introducing beginners to running, via its popular Swindon Couch to 5K running course. The 8 week course starts every March, May, July and September.
