Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) is your County Sports Partnership which works closely with Wiltshire Council, Swindon Borough Council, National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGB), Strategic Partners, clubs, coaches and volunteers to create a lasting legacy for PE, sport and physical activity. Our focus is to ensure that national sport has local reach.
This page of our website is designed to support Primary Schools to effectively utilise their PE and Sport Premium funding while guiding them on the associated Ofsted inspection requirements.
Rik Grover is the lead consultant for the Primary Sports Premium at Wiltshire and Swindon Sport. His role is to provide support and advice to Primary Schools and to help them improve the quality of thePEand sport activities they offer their pupils.
Rik is working with and co-ordinating all the various partners involved in providing Primary School Sport in the county and is instrumental in setting up courses and training for teachers and private coaching providers. The aim is to encourage a cohesive approach to sports provision in Primary Schools.

We are please to announce the publication of our new Primary Sport Premium brochure which has been distributed to all Primary Schools across Wiltshire and Swindon and provides them with access to a wide variety of tools and information nationally as well as local support and advice.

There are a number of sources of funding for sport and physical activity for clubs and organisations, coaches, facilities & improvements and talented individuals to apply for.
Wiltshire and Swindon Sport has and will continue to develop a Funding Directory (A – Z) to assist and signpost you to help identify the most applicable source of funding for you. We can also provide you with initial advice and support with the application process.

To help to manage the support options available we recommend that you work through the following steps:
- Check if you can access any of the standard Government support (staffing costs, business rates, small business grants, sick pay rebate)
- Access FREE Business Advice to work through how you can manage the finances of your organisation during this phase
- If you are not eligible for the government grants, perhaps the new fund available through Sport England could help
- Check out any other local grants or support which you could access
