Disability Sport in Swindon Update
Active Lives Officer Liam Bird has been responsible for the Disability Sport in Swindon programme since July 2018. He has produced an update highlighting the many ways in which the project has been successful, as well as what is to come in 2019.
As the service continues to demonstrate a strong reputation both online and offline through various referral networks, they have been helping an increasing number of individuals with a variety of additional needs. As a truly inclusive service, they cater for individuals with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, members of the community experiencing poorer mental health and those seeking to engage in sport and physical activity in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Within the last 6 months they have recorded a total of 394 participants with an average weekly visit count of 204 visits.
